Willie James Newton Sr.

September 16, 1947~November 26, 2024

Mr. Willie James Newton Sr. was born on September 16th, 1947, in Vero Beach, Florida, to Nancy Gerald Newton and James Newton, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Gifford High School and later joined the United States Air Force, where he served proudly as an Air Force Administration Technician. After years of dedicated military service, Mr. Newton retired and continued to serve his community through his work with the U.S. Postal Service.

He was married to the late Mrs. Minerva Gauthier Newton and was a loving father to Alisha Newton, Kartell Newton, Percy James Newton, and Willie James Newton Jr. (who also preceded him in death). He was the devoted grandfather of Keith Nesbitt Jr., Kaden Nesbitt, Percy James Newton Jr., and Desiree Newton.

Mr. Newton was the cherished sibling of Warren Newton, Karl Newton, Jimmie Nicholas (preceded in death), Ruth Newton (preceded in death), and Timothy Newton (preceded in death). He had a special bond with his niece and nephew, Todd, Tracey, Tonya Nichols, and many other family members and friends.

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle will always be remembered for his joyful spirit, his love of fishing, and the infectious laughter he brought into every room. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Percy,
There are no words that can prove the type of comfort that only Mr. Newton could give to you and the family. Because you hold GOD in your heart, take comfort in knowing your dad is not gone….he’s just away and his spirit will be with you always.

Sending healing prayers and hugs to my loving husband and the family from Omaha Nebraska.

LaTasha Newton
