Darryl Jeffery Williams

September 11, 1961~December 05, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darryl Jeffery Williams, who peacefully entered eternal life on December 5, 2024, at the age of 63. Darryl was born on September 11, 1961, in Tampa, Florida, and was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Darryl attended Hillsborough High School in Tampa, where he was known for his passion for basketball. His love of sports continued throughout his life, both as a player and as a devoted fan. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, often gathering with family and friends for games that were as competitive as they were fun.

Darryl worked at a juvenile detention center in Thonotosassa, Florida, where he dedicated many years of service to helping young people navigate difficult challenges.

Darryl’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted mother, Joan Walker; his son, Jameel Williams; and his cherished grandson, Jameel Williams Jr. He will also be lovingly remembered by his son’s mother, Claudia Hill. Darryl is survived by his sisters Sandra King, Yulanda Walker, Willitte Walker, Martha Williams, April Williams, Peaches Williams, and Meka Williams, and his brothers Velvies Williams Jr. and Tremain Williams.

He is also survived by a large extended family, including aunts Precille Roilead and Cynthia Harrold; uncles Arthur Clemons, Freddie Clemons, Frank Clemons, Bobby Cummings, Lester Williams, and Rody Williams. His nephews Dajuan Smith, Antwan Ryals, Johnny Worlds III, and Bryce White, as well as his nieces Tyiest King, Takeia King, Taquana King, Sierra Lawson, Nikkia Thomas, Ianigua Thomas, and Baile White, will carry his memory forward. He is also survived by numerous great-nephews, great-nieces, and great-great-nephews and nieces.

Darryl’s love for his family, his laughter, and his warm presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of calling him family and friend.
